
We offer a six-hour Beginners to
Intermediate training in Microsoft Excel. Excel blows Lotus
1-2-3 out of the water. This application will explore the
spreadsheet, database and graphic capabilities. Emphasis will
be placed on creating spreadsheets and the formatting and
calculation of data as used in accounting and budgeting
functions, moving around and between worksheets. Students learn
how to open, save, close and print worksheets. They will also
learn how to enter numbers and formulas, and link multiple Excel
worksheets together, how to edit a spreadsheet, and protect
cells they don’t want tampered with, as well as copying moving
and erasing cell data. Participants will also learn how to
format and enhance worksheets to improve their appearance. Some
other items to make your life easier are spell check, the ever
powerful and ever welcome “undo” button, and sort data key.
Entering & Editing
Data: Filling in a range, copying and moving cells, overwriting
cells and editing cells, inserting and deleting rows and
columns, freezing column and row titles, hiding and displaying
columns and rows, splitting worksheets, finding and replacing
data. Working with Formulas:
Adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing data with a formula,
totaling cells with the Sum function, calculating an average,
copying formulas, naming a range. Managing Files: Saving,
closing, creating, opening and finding workbooks. Formatting
the worksheet: Aligning data, displaying dollars, signs, commas
and percent signs, specifying decimal places, copying formats,
changing column widths. shading cells, adding border, turning
off gridlines. Printing the worksheet: Inserting and removing
page breaks, selecting a print area, printing column and row
headings, adding headings and footers, previewing the print job,
printing the worksheet.
