Microsoft Word

We offer a six-hour Beginners to Intermediate training in Microsoft Word.  Microsoft Word is a Word Processing application.  During this hands-on course, you will go through the entire document cycle from the creation of the document to the storage and/or printing of it.  Topics covered include:  mouse and window manipulation, creating, saving, and using the “save as” function, retrieving a file, editing and deletion techniques; cutting, copying and pasting, editing and saving an edited document; bolding, underlining, italicizing, as the document is being created or after creation.  Working with longer documents, inserting page breaks and column breaks.  Printing, setting margins, using borders and shading, setting margins and tabs:  left, right, center and decimal aligned.  Creation of tables, converting text to table and table to text, resizing table columns and rows, single and double-spacing paragraphs, centering text, bullets and numbering, viewing documents prior to printing; search and replace; using the speller and thesaurus; merging letters, bar coding envelopes, labels; word art, columns, inserting pictures; creating an excel worksheet in Word, auto text, viewing toolbars, and ruler, creating templates using headers and footers.  Tips and shortcuts abound in this course.
